The best month for an outdoor wedding is not the same in Vermont and Florida, and pricing follows the weather.
Peak season is where demand and weather overlap. Book against that overlap and you save real money without getting rained on.
Northeast and Great Lakes
June and September through mid-October. The foliage weekends are the most expensive dates of the year and go eighteen months out. Late May and early November are the value windows, with a genuine indoor plan required.
Mid-Atlantic and Appalachia
May, and then September through October. July and August are humid enough to change how the day feels for guests in suits.
Southeast and Gulf
March to early May, then October and November. Summer is hurricane and heat season and prices reflect it, so a beautiful April Friday is often the smartest booking in the country.
Hill Country and Southwest
March to May, then October and November. The desert shoulder seasons are short and heavily booked.
Rockies and Great Plains
Late June through September. Anything earlier can still involve snow at elevation, and venues will tell you so if you ask directly.
Pacific
July through early October for the Northwest, where the dry window is narrow and reliable. California runs much longer, roughly April to November, with wildfire smoke the real seasonal risk rather than rain.
